Happy Spring, fellow Pio alumni!
This month’s Alumni Council Corner is more of an invitation than an update. The Alumni Council is accepting applications for new members through the end of the month, and I wanted to take a moment to share what I love about being on the Council, and to encourage you to become involved.
If you’re not familiar with its work, the Alumni Council is a critical resource for the Carroll University alumni community. It supports the mission, goals, and strategic direction of the University, represents the voice of alumni in the alumni engagement planning process, and serves in an active capacity to support the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Division of Institutional Advancement. We also manage to have a lot of fun along the way! And it’s so much more than fundraising and participating in alumni events. The Alumni Council’s priorities include:
- Informing, involving, and serving all members of the alumni community
- Serving as ambassadors, boosting Carroll University's visibility and reputation
- Crafting and executing strategic plans to drive alumni engagement initiatives
- Bridging alumni and the university through idea exchange and collaboration
- Selecting distinguished alumni award recipients
Over the past couple years, we have been working with the Office of Institutional Inclusion (OIC) to align the Council’s work with the OIC’s leadership around fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging. The Council has prioritized supporting the creation of alumni events that are of interest to alumni of diverse backgrounds and identities. We are excited to continue this work and look forward to recruiting new members who can offer their experience, expertise, and energy in to the Alumni Engagement process. If you are interested in learning more, please visit the
Alumni Council page to hear from current members, read more about the Council’s responsibilities, and complete an application! If you have questions or would like more information, please email
alumni@567ib.com.
I look forward to seeing you at an Alumni event soon – and maybe even welcoming you to the Council!
